I had the honor of joining Governor Murphy today in Ramsey as he signed S3695/A4882 into law-legislation I was proud to introduce alongside Senator Moriarty, and my first major piece of legislation as an Assemblywoman to be signed into law. At its core, S3695/A4882 restores bell-to-bell learning by reducing distractions from internet-enabled devices during the school day. By limiting constant notifications, group chats, and social media, this law helps students be fully present, fully engaged, and better supported in the classroom-while preserving flexibility when technology supports instruction, health, or well-being. It was especially meaningful to be joined by representatives from every corner of the education community who believed in this bill, including parent advocates from our district, Screen Aware Montclair. I also want to recognize Dr. Danny Robertozzi, Clifton Superintendent of Schools, who-along with Principal Hamdeh-will be featured on an upcoming episode of the Jersey Rules podcast. Thank you to Governor Murphy, Senator Moriarty, Assemblyman Miller, our legislative partners, and the educators, parents, and students who helped shape this effort to strengthen learning environments and encourage healthier digital habits for New Jersey's students.
